Reisdetails van Curacao en Bonaire
Omschrijving:
Curaçao is een land dat behoort tot het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden. Tot 10 oktober 2010 behoorde het eiland tot het voormalige land Nederlandse Antillen, waarvan het op Curaçao gelegen Willemstad de hoofdstad was. Curaçao ligt in de Caribische Zee, ten noorden van Venezuela. Geografisch behoort Curaçao tot de Benedenwindse Eilanden (vanwege de ligging ten opzicht van de noordoostpassaat) en de Kleine Antillen, waarmee de eilanden ten oosten en zuiden van Puerto Rico aangeduid worden.
Vanwege de koloniale geschiedenis waarbij Curaçao anderhalve eeuw een kolonie van Nederland is geweest is Curaçao een mengelmoes van Caribische sfeer met Nederlandse invloeden, waaronder de Nederlandse taal. Omdat de huidige bewoners voor een groot deel afstammen van mensen die van elders (o.a. West-Afrika, Europa en Latijns-Amerika) door de eeuwen heen naar Curaçao gekomen zijn is de prachtige smeltkroes ontstaan die je heden ten dage aantreft op dit prachtige Caribische eiland.
Dankzij de vliegverbindingen tussen Amsterdam en Curaçao is het land decennia lang een populaire bestemming onder Nederlandse toeristen. Niet alleen toeristen weten het tropische eiland te vinden, landgenoten trekken ook naar Curaçao op daar tijdelijk of permanent te gaan wonen en/of werken. Net als Aruba en Bonaire is Curaçao een geliefde bestemming voor stages, waardoor je in het uitgaansleven op het eiland relatief veel Nederlandse jongeren tegenkomt.
Wat betreft sfeer en landschap wijkt Curaçao duidelijk af van de ernaast eilanden Bonaire en Aruba. Waar Aruba zich vooral richt op de rijkere toerist uit de Verenigde Staten en Bonaire vooral een rustige duikbestemming is, daar lijkt Curaçao het meest op een normaal eiland waar het alledaagse leven centraal staat en handel naast het toerisme als belangrijke bron van inkomsten bestaat.
De economie van Curaçao staat regelmatig onder druk. Het eiland kent dan ook redelijk hoge werkloosheidscijfers en een substantieel deel van de bevolking heeft moeite om rond te komen. Als gevolg hiervan heerst er op dit eiland dan ook meer criminaliteit dan op de andere eilanden van de voormalige Nederlandse Antillen. Laat je niet teveel afschrikken hierdoor, want ook veel andere populaire vakantiebestemmingen hebben te maken met criminaliteit of erger.
Na een paar dagen op Curaçao vlieg ik met een klein toestel naar het naastgelegen eiiland Bonaire.
Tegenwoordig is Bonaire een bijzonder gemeente binnen Nederland, waarbij er wel sprake is van een lokaal bestuur en Bonaire niet binnen het Schengen-verdrag valt. Bonaire vormt samen met de eilanden Sint Eustatius en Saba een gebied dat ook wel Caribisch Nederland genoemd wordt.
Het in Europa gelegen deel van Nederland wordt binnen deze context Europees Nederland genoemd. Hoewel Bonaire sinds 10-10-2010 dus eigenlijk een stukje Caribisch gebied binnen Nederland geworden is, zijn niet automatisch alle Nederlandse wetten van toepassing op Bonaire. Binnen het Nederlands wetboek moet specifiek vermeld zijn dat de betreffende wet ook van toepassing is in de openbare lichamen Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba.
Door de politieke verschuiving van Bonaire en de twee andere eilanden heeft telt Nederland ineens een gemeente waar het hele jaar tropische temperaturen heersen, waar je uitstekend kunt duiken en waar de snelheid van het dagelijks leven net een standje lager staat dan in Europa.
Dit zijn de factoren die Bonaire al jarenlang een populaire toeristische bestemming maken onder Nederlandse en internationale toeristen. De duiklocaties rondom Bonaire genieten groot aanzien onder de duikliefhebbers.
Het Bonaire National Marine Park is een zeereservaat dat voor de zuidwestkust van Bonaire ligt, ten noorden van het eiland Klein Bonaire. Dit prachtige duikgebied omvat maar liefst 600 hectare aan koraalrif, mangrovevegetaties en prachtige tropische vissen. Dit in 1979 gerealiseerde park behoort tot de beste duiklocaties ter wereld.
Ook voor wie niet van duiken houdt heeft Bonaire voldoende te bieden. Het eiland is gezegend met een fraaie flora en fauna, waar natuurliefhebbers kunnen genieten van vogelsoorten zoals papegaaien, parkieten in de meest fraaie kleuren en natuurlijk de voor dit eiland zo kenmerkende flamingo’s. Het relaxte karakter van Bonaire de prachtige natuur zorgen er samen voor dat het eiland in vergelijking met de buureilanden binnen de Benedenwindse Eilanden een rustiger karakter hebben. Vandaar dat het publiek dat je op Bonaire aantreft over het algemeen een andere samenstelling heeft dan de toeristen die je op Aruba en Curaçao aantreft.

Na een paar dagen op Curaçao vlieg ik met een klein toestel naar het naastgelegen eiiland Bonaire.
Tegenwoordig is Bonaire een bijzonder gemeente binnen Nederland, waarbij er wel sprake is van een lokaal bestuur en Bonaire niet binnen het Schengen-verdrag valt. Bonaire vormt samen met de eilanden Sint Eustatius en Saba een gebied dat ook wel Caribisch Nederland genoemd wordt.
Het in Europa gelegen deel van Nederland wordt binnen deze context Europees Nederland genoemd. Hoewel Bonaire sinds 10-10-2010 dus eigenlijk een stukje Caribisch gebied binnen Nederland geworden is, zijn niet automatisch alle Nederlandse wetten van toepassing op Bonaire. Binnen het Nederlands wetboek moet specifiek vermeld zijn dat de betreffende wet ook van toepassing is in de openbare lichamen Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba.
Door de politieke verschuiving van Bonaire en de twee andere eilanden heeft telt Nederland ineens een gemeente waar het hele jaar tropische temperaturen heersen, waar je uitstekend kunt duiken en waar de snelheid van het dagelijks leven net een standje lager staat dan in Europa.
Dit zijn de factoren die Bonaire al jarenlang een populaire toeristische bestemming maken onder Nederlandse en internationale toeristen. De duiklocaties rondom Bonaire genieten groot aanzien onder de duikliefhebbers.
Het Bonaire National Marine Park is een zeereservaat dat voor de zuidwestkust van Bonaire ligt, ten noorden van het eiland Klein Bonaire. Dit prachtige duikgebied omvat maar liefst 600 hectare aan koraalrif, mangrovevegetaties en prachtige tropische vissen. Dit in 1979 gerealiseerde park behoort tot de beste duiklocaties ter wereld.
Ook voor wie niet van duiken houdt heeft Bonaire voldoende te bieden. Het eiland is gezegend met een fraaie flora en fauna, waar natuurliefhebbers kunnen genieten van vogelsoorten zoals papegaaien, parkieten in de meest fraaie kleuren en natuurlijk de voor dit eiland zo kenmerkende flamingo’s. Het relaxte karakter van Bonaire de prachtige natuur zorgen er samen voor dat het eiland in vergelijking met de buureilanden binnen de Benedenwindse Eilanden een rustiger karakter hebben. Vandaar dat het publiek dat je op Bonaire aantreft over het algemeen een andere samenstelling heeft dan de toeristen die je op Aruba en Curaçao aantreft.

Reisdetails van Curacao en Bonaire
Omschrijving:
Curaçao is een land dat behoort tot het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden. Tot 10 oktober 2010 behoorde het eiland tot het voormalige land Nederlandse Antillen, waarvan het op Curaçao gelegen Willemstad de hoofdstad was. Curaçao ligt in de Caribische Zee, ten noorden van Venezuela. Geografisch behoort Curaçao tot de Benedenwindse Eilanden (vanwege de ligging ten opzicht van de noordoostpassaat) en de Kleine Antillen, waarmee de eilanden ten oosten en zuiden van Puerto Rico aangeduid worden.
Vanwege de koloniale geschiedenis waarbij Curaçao anderhalve eeuw een kolonie van Nederland is geweest is Curaçao een mengelmoes van Caribische sfeer met Nederlandse invloeden, waaronder de Nederlandse taal. Omdat de huidige bewoners voor een groot deel afstammen van mensen die van elders (o.a. West-Afrika, Europa en Latijns-Amerika) door de eeuwen heen naar Curaçao gekomen zijn is de prachtige smeltkroes ontstaan die je heden ten dage aantreft op dit prachtige Caribische eiland.
Dankzij de vliegverbindingen tussen Amsterdam en Curaçao is het land decennia lang een populaire bestemming onder Nederlandse toeristen. Niet alleen toeristen weten het tropische eiland te vinden, landgenoten trekken ook naar Curaçao op daar tijdelijk of permanent te gaan wonen en/of werken. Net als Aruba en Bonaire is Curaçao een geliefde bestemming voor stages, waardoor je in het uitgaansleven op het eiland relatief veel Nederlandse jongeren tegenkomt.
Wat betreft sfeer en landschap wijkt Curaçao duidelijk af van de ernaast eilanden Bonaire en Aruba. Waar Aruba zich vooral richt op de rijkere toerist uit de Verenigde Staten en Bonaire vooral een rustige duikbestemming is, daar lijkt Curaçao het meest op een normaal eiland waar het alledaagse leven centraal staat en handel naast het toerisme als belangrijke bron van inkomsten bestaat.
De economie van Curaçao staat regelmatig onder druk. Het eiland kent dan ook redelijk hoge werkloosheidscijfers en een substantieel deel van de bevolking heeft moeite om rond te komen. Als gevolg hiervan heerst er op dit eiland dan ook meer criminaliteit dan op de andere eilanden van de voormalige Nederlandse Antillen. Laat je niet teveel afschrikken hierdoor, want ook veel andere populaire vakantiebestemmingen hebben te maken met criminaliteit of erger.
Na een paar dagen op Curaçao vlieg ik met een klein toestel naar het naastgelegen eiiland Bonaire.
Tegenwoordig is Bonaire een bijzonder gemeente binnen Nederland, waarbij er wel sprake is van een lokaal bestuur en Bonaire niet binnen het Schengen-verdrag valt. Bonaire vormt samen met de eilanden Sint Eustatius en Saba een gebied dat ook wel Caribisch Nederland genoemd wordt.
Het in Europa gelegen deel van Nederland wordt binnen deze context Europees Nederland genoemd. Hoewel Bonaire sinds 10-10-2010 dus eigenlijk een stukje Caribisch gebied binnen Nederland geworden is, zijn niet automatisch alle Nederlandse wetten van toepassing op Bonaire. Binnen het Nederlands wetboek moet specifiek vermeld zijn dat de betreffende wet ook van toepassing is in de openbare lichamen Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba.
Door de politieke verschuiving van Bonaire en de twee andere eilanden heeft telt Nederland ineens een gemeente waar het hele jaar tropische temperaturen heersen, waar je uitstekend kunt duiken en waar de snelheid van het dagelijks leven net een standje lager staat dan in Europa.
Dit zijn de factoren die Bonaire al jarenlang een populaire toeristische bestemming maken onder Nederlandse en internationale toeristen. De duiklocaties rondom Bonaire genieten groot aanzien onder de duikliefhebbers.
Het Bonaire National Marine Park is een zeereservaat dat voor de zuidwestkust van Bonaire ligt, ten noorden van het eiland Klein Bonaire. Dit prachtige duikgebied omvat maar liefst 600 hectare aan koraalrif, mangrovevegetaties en prachtige tropische vissen. Dit in 1979 gerealiseerde park behoort tot de beste duiklocaties ter wereld.
Ook voor wie niet van duiken houdt heeft Bonaire voldoende te bieden. Het eiland is gezegend met een fraaie flora en fauna, waar natuurliefhebbers kunnen genieten van vogelsoorten zoals papegaaien, parkieten in de meest fraaie kleuren en natuurlijk de voor dit eiland zo kenmerkende flamingo’s. Het relaxte karakter van Bonaire de prachtige natuur zorgen er samen voor dat het eiland in vergelijking met de buureilanden binnen de Benedenwindse Eilanden een rustiger karakter hebben. Vandaar dat het publiek dat je op Bonaire aantreft over het algemeen een andere samenstelling heeft dan de toeristen die je op Aruba en Curaçao aantreft.

Reisdetails van Curacao en Bonaire
Omschrijving:
Curaçao is een land dat behoort tot het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden. Tot 10 oktober 2010 behoorde het eiland tot het voormalige land Nederlandse Antillen, waarvan het op Curaçao gelegen Willemstad de hoofdstad was. Curaçao ligt in de Caribische Zee, ten noorden van Venezuela. Geografisch behoort Curaçao tot de Benedenwindse Eilanden (vanwege de ligging ten opzicht van de noordoostpassaat) en de Kleine Antillen, waarmee de eilanden ten oosten en zuiden van Puerto Rico aangeduid worden.
Vanwege de koloniale geschiedenis waarbij Curaçao anderhalve eeuw een kolonie van Nederland is geweest is Curaçao een mengelmoes van Caribische sfeer met Nederlandse invloeden, waaronder de Nederlandse taal. Omdat de huidige bewoners voor een groot deel afstammen van mensen die van elders (o.a. West-Afrika, Europa en Latijns-Amerika) door de eeuwen heen naar Curaçao gekomen zijn is de prachtige smeltkroes ontstaan die je heden ten dage aantreft op dit prachtige Caribische eiland.

Door de politieke verschuiving van Bonaire en de twee andere eilanden heeft telt Nederland ineens een gemeente waar het hele jaar tropische temperaturen heersen, waar je uitstekend kunt duiken en waar de snelheid van het dagelijks leven net een standje lager staat dan in Europa.
Dit zijn de factoren die Bonaire al jarenlang een populaire toeristische bestemming maken onder Nederlandse en internationale toeristen. De duiklocaties rondom Bonaire genieten groot aanzien onder de duikliefhebbers.
Het Bonaire National Marine Park is een zeereservaat dat voor de zuidwestkust van Bonaire ligt, ten noorden van het eiland Klein Bonaire. Dit prachtige duikgebied omvat maar liefst 600 hectare aan koraalrif, mangrovevegetaties en prachtige tropische vissen. Dit in 1979 gerealiseerde park behoort tot de beste duiklocaties ter wereld.
Ook voor wie niet van duiken houdt heeft Bonaire voldoende te bieden. Het eiland is gezegend met een fraaie flora en fauna, waar natuurliefhebbers kunnen genieten van vogelsoorten zoals papegaaien, parkieten in de meest fraaie kleuren en natuurlijk de voor dit eiland zo kenmerkende flamingo’s. Het relaxte karakter van Bonaire de prachtige natuur zorgen er samen voor dat het eiland in vergelijking met de buureilanden binnen de Benedenwindse Eilanden een rustiger karakter hebben. Vandaar dat het publiek dat je op Bonaire aantreft over het algemeen een andere samenstelling heeft dan de toeristen die je op Aruba en Curaçao aantreft.

Reisdetails van Curacao en Bonaire
Omschrijving:
Curaçao is een land dat behoort tot het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden. Tot 10 oktober 2010 behoorde het eiland tot het voormalige land Nederlandse Antillen, waarvan het op Curaçao gelegen Willemstad de hoofdstad was. Curaçao ligt in de Caribische Zee, ten noorden van Venezuela. Geografisch behoort Curaçao tot de Benedenwindse Eilanden (vanwege de ligging ten opzicht van de noordoostpassaat) en de Kleine Antillen, waarmee de eilanden ten oosten en zuiden van Puerto Rico aangeduid worden.
Vanwege de koloniale geschiedenis waarbij Curaçao anderhalve eeuw een kolonie van Nederland is geweest is Curaçao een mengelmoes van Caribische sfeer met Nederlandse invloeden, waaronder de Nederlandse taal. Omdat de huidige bewoners voor een groot deel afstammen van mensen die van elders (o.a. West-Afrika, Europa en Latijns-Amerika) door de eeuwen heen naar Curaçao gekomen zijn is de prachtige smeltkroes ontstaan die je heden ten dage aantreft op dit prachtige Caribische eiland.
Dankzij de vliegverbindingen tussen Amsterdam en Curaçao is het land decennia lang een populaire bestemming onder Nederlandse toeristen. Niet alleen toeristen weten het tropische eiland te vinden, landgenoten trekken ook naar Curaçao op daar tijdelijk of permanent te gaan wonen en/of werken. Net als Aruba en Bonaire is Curaçao een geliefde bestemming voor stages, waardoor je in het uitgaansleven op het eiland relatief veel Nederlandse jongeren tegenkomt.
Wat betreft sfeer en landschap wijkt Curaçao duidelijk af van de ernaast eilanden Bonaire en Aruba. Waar Aruba zich vooral richt op de rijkere toerist uit de Verenigde Staten en Bonaire vooral een rustige duikbestemming is, daar lijkt Curaçao het meest op een normaal eiland waar het alledaagse leven centraal staat en handel naast het toerisme als belangrijke bron van inkomsten bestaat.
De economie van Curaçao staat regelmatig onder druk. Het eiland kent dan ook redelijk hoge werkloosheidscijfers en een substantieel deel van de bevolking heeft moeite om rond te komen. Als gevolg hiervan heerst er op dit eiland dan ook meer criminaliteit dan op de andere eilanden van de voormalige Nederlandse Antillen. Laat je niet teveel afschrikken hierdoor, want ook veel andere populaire vakantiebestemmingen hebben te maken met criminaliteit of erger.
Na een paar dagen op Curaçao vlieg ik met een klein toestel naar het naastgelegen eiiland Bonaire.
Tegenwoordig is Bonaire een bijzonder gemeente binnen Nederland, waarbij er wel sprake is van een lokaal bestuur en Bonaire niet binnen het Schengen-verdrag valt. Bonaire vormt samen met de eilanden Sint Eustatius en Saba een gebied dat ook wel Caribisch Nederland genoemd wordt.
Het in Europa gelegen deel van Nederland wordt binnen deze context Europees Nederland genoemd. [title] => Curacao en Bonaire
[description] => Curaçao is een land dat behoort tot het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden. Tot 10 oktober 2010 behoorde het eiland tot het voormalige land Nederlandse Antillen, waarvan het op Curaçao gelegen Willemstad de hoofdstad was. Curaçao ligt in de Caribische Zee, ten noorden van Venezuela. Geografisch behoort Curaçao tot de Benedenwindse Eilanden (vanwege de ligging ten opzicht van de noordoostpassaat) en de Kleine Antillen, waarmee de eilanden ten oosten en zuiden van Puerto Rico aangeduid worden.
Vanwege de koloniale geschiedenis waarbij Curaçao anderhalve eeuw een kolonie van Nederland is geweest is Curaçao een mengelmoes van Caribische sfeer met Nederlandse invloeden, waaronder de Nederlandse taal. Omdat de huidige bewoners voor een groot deel afstammen van mensen die van elders (o.a. West-Afrika, Europa en Latijns-Amerika) door de eeuwen heen naar Curaçao gekomen zijn is de prachtige smeltkroes ontstaan die je heden ten dage aantreft op dit prachtige Caribische eiland.
Dankzij de vliegverbindingen tussen Amsterdam en Curaçao is het land decennia lang een populaire bestemming onder Nederlandse toeristen. Niet alleen toeristen weten het tropische eiland te vinden, landgenoten trekken ook naar Curaçao op daar tijdelijk of permanent te gaan wonen en/of werken. Net als Aruba en Bonaire is Curaçao een geliefde bestemming voor stages, waardoor je in het uitgaansleven op het eiland relatief veel Nederlandse jongeren tegenkomt.
Wat betreft sfeer en landschap wijkt Curaçao duidelijk af van de ernaast eilanden Bonaire en Aruba. Waar Aruba zich vooral richt op de rijkere toerist uit de Verenigde Staten en Bonaire vooral een rustige duikbestemming is, daar lijkt Curaçao het meest op een normaal eiland waar het alledaagse leven centraal staat en handel naast het toerisme als belangrijke bron van inkomsten bestaat.
De economie van Curaçao staat regelmatig onder druk. Het eiland kent dan ook redelijk hoge werkloosheidscijfers en een substantieel deel van de bevolking heeft moeite om rond te komen. Als gevolg hiervan heerst er op dit eiland dan ook meer criminaliteit dan op de andere eilanden van de voormalige Nederlandse Antillen. Laat je niet teveel afschrikken hierdoor, want ook veel andere populaire vakantiebestemmingen hebben te maken met criminaliteit of erger.
Na een paar dagen op Curaçao vlieg ik met een klein toestel naar het naastgelegen eiiland Bonaire.
Tegenwoordig is Bonaire een bijzonder gemeente binnen Nederland, waarbij er wel sprake is van een lokaal bestuur en Bonaire niet binnen het Schengen-verdrag valt. Bonaire vormt samen met de eilanden Sint Eustatius en Saba een gebied dat ook wel Caribisch Nederland genoemd wordt.
Het in Europa gelegen deel van Nederland wordt binnen deze context Europees Nederland genoemd. Hoewel Bonaire sinds 10-10-2010 dus eigenlijk een stukje Caribisch gebied binnen Nederland geworden is, zijn niet automatisch alle Nederlandse wetten van toepassing op Bonaire. Binnen het Nederlands wetboek moet specifiek vermeld zijn dat de betreffende wet ook van toepassing is in de openbare lichamen Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba.
Door de politieke verschuiving van Bonaire en de twee andere eilanden heeft telt Nederland ineens een gemeente waar het hele jaar tropische temperaturen heersen, waar je uitstekend kunt duiken en waar de snelheid van het dagelijks leven net een standje lager staat dan in Europa.
Dit zijn de factoren die Bonaire al jarenlang een populaire toeristische bestemming maken onder Nederlandse en internationale toeristen. De duiklocaties rondom Bonaire genieten groot aanzien onder de duikliefhebbers.
Het Bonaire National Marine Park is een zeereservaat dat voor de zuidwestkust van Bonaire ligt, ten noorden van het eiland Klein Bonaire. Dit prachtige duikgebied omvat maar liefst 600 hectare aan koraalrif, mangrovevegetaties en prachtige tropische vissen. Dit in 1979 gerealiseerde park behoort tot de beste duiklocaties ter wereld.
Ook voor wie niet van duiken houdt heeft Bonaire voldoende te bieden. Het eiland is gezegend met een fraaie flora en fauna, waar natuurliefhebbers kunnen genieten van vogelsoorten zoals papegaaien, parkieten in de meest fraaie kleuren en natuurlijk de voor dit eiland zo kenmerkende flamingo’s. Het relaxte karakter van Bonaire de prachtige natuur zorgen er samen voor dat het eiland in vergelijking met de buureilanden binnen de Benedenwindse Eilanden een rustiger karakter hebben. Vandaar dat het publiek dat je op Bonaire aantreft over het algemeen een andere samenstelling heeft dan de toeristen die je op Aruba en Curaçao aantreft.
